Our departments

Boarding department is the most crucial department in the school. This department in our school is manned by a team of able teachers appointed by the principal. Ms. Olivia Biegon (HOD), Mr. Henry Adika (Boarding boy) and Ms Divinah Kosgei (girls) assisted by a team of dorm prefects. Currently (2022) the population of  boarders is 352 i.e 280 girls and  72 boys . Chepkong’ony secondary school has three dorms namely:

   1.St Peters Dorm for Girls With two wings (Wing A &Wing B)  and

2. St Marys Dorm for Girls
3. Boys Dorm

The teachers in charge have a great role in ensuring all issues pertaining boarding are in order. They ensure all students sleep in a clean environment, eat well balanced diet, as well as being smart and neat all times among many other duties.

The department in connection with other departments termly organizes for assistance to the needy students through donations of personal affects e.g. sanitary towels and other boarding requirements for boarders.

Services

1. i) Providing balanced diet,
2. ii) Adequate security for students by experienced security team

iii) Health services by the matron

1. iv) Adequate clean water

Strengths

    Strengths  of the department include; a strong team boarding teachers and school matron, security provided by experienced security personnel ,effective boarding rules and regulations, elaborate procedure for admission to boarding,

Challenges

Challenges include; Inadequate boarding space, shortage of water, Lack alternative source of power.
