LANGUAGES DEPARTMENT
MDM. WINNY YEGON H.O.D-LANGUAGES.
Languages department is one of the largest departments in the school and acts as a basis in all other subjects. The English subject in particular is being depended upon by all the timetabled subjects: without a good command of both written and spoken English a student will not perform any better in the rest of disciplines offered.
Kiswahili language, however is also another compulsory subject done by all students in the school. It has posted good results in the past years.
To improve performance the department has employed the following strategies: frequent exercises in insha (Kiswahili) and composition (English) writing every week, organizing internal symposia, staging live performance on set books and oral literature and debates. Discussion groups are also formed to enable students assist each other. The students utilize the library during free lessons in order to interact with broad range of reference materials such as newspapers,story books ,novels, poems e.t.c.
We believe in good language policy and teamwork.
Our departmental target is 7.5 (C+) .
